Files you should have:
SIMTERM.EXE - The terminal program
SIMTERM.DOC - The operations manual
REGISTER.DOC - The registration form
HISTORY.DOC - Revision history
README.DOC - This file
Although Simterm is relatively easy to use, it is advisable to read the
documentation before starting. If you are experienced with telecommunications,
you could just read the Installation and Configuring Simterm sections in the
Getting Started chapter of the manual.
If you've been using a 1.x version of Simterm, your old .CFG and .PHN files
are not compatible with this version. Simterm will see that they are not
correct and will overwrite them with new 2.0 copies. Sorry about that but
the increased capabilities of Simterm 2.0 made it impossible to keep the
file formats the same.
If you have a printer and wish to make a hard copy of the manual, you can copy
the SIMTERM.DOC file to your printer. From the DOS prompt you would type:
COPY SIMTERM.DOC PRN
followed by pressing the ENTER key.
The manual is formatted for 80 columns and 66 lines per page. It has an eight
character margin on the left so it can be punched and put into a folder without
obscuring any of the text.
